COSMONAUTICA

IMMERSIVE FILM | EXPANDED CINEMA

"Cosmonautica" is an experimental short film that takes viewers on a mesmerizing journey through the inner and outer cosmos, unfolding abstract textures, galaxies, stars, nebulas, and black and white holes, while evoking the pareidolia effect.

In an age where technology is advancing at a breakneck pace, this artisanal and entirely anachronistic production process presents itself as a moving painting, offering an overview effect from an even more distant perspective. "Cosmonautica" is a one-of-a-kind visual experience that explores the mysteries of the universe and humanity's place within it.

In "Cosmonautica," the high magnification shots utilize fluid dynamics and light reflection in macro scales to create a realistic dynamic and shape. The use of handcrafted techniques adds a unique touch to the film, allowing for a more organic feel to the visuals. The result is a breathtaking and immersive experience that transports the viewer to a world beyond our own.

The film's dark and marvelous scenario is accompanied by original music and sound design, specifically designed for the footage, and spatialized for an immersive experience.

Cosmonautica is a transmedia project developed in different formats to adapt to various types of contemporary immersive projections.

The immersive screening of Cosmonautica debuted in June 2024 at the Syllepse in Geneva, with a custom version designed for 360° crown and ceiling projection. It was also showcased at the Mapping Festival, with a special presentation at CERN during the CineGlobe Festival 2024.
