SELF SIMILAR (WIP)

Self Similar originates from a close exploration of corals, an immersion beyond the surface to observe the hidden complexity of living forms. Through specialized high-magnification macro lenses, designed to push the boundaries of close-up imaging even underwater, the film reveals a dimension that is normally invisible, where every structure unveils new geometries and new ways of seeing.

High-definition imagery reveals natural architectures shaped over time: fractal branching structures, recurring patterns, slow and almost imperceptible movements, and fluorescences emerging from the darkness, transforming the reef into a landscape of light. As the observation moves deeper, the boundary between organism and abstraction begins to dissolve, revealing a universe where seemingly complex forms arise from simple and profound principles.

Self Similar explores the dialogue between different scales of nature, showing how the same patterns can repeat, evolve, and transform from the smallest structures to the entire ecosystem. A visual investigation into the hidden wonder of the underwater world, where technology becomes a tool to bring us closer to nature and rediscover the extraordinary beauty of living forms.
